The Black Daddies Club (BDC), Toronto Kiki Ballroom Alliance (TKBA), and The Arbert Santana Ballroom Freedom School Project are proud to co-present the 3rd Annual Journey to Black Liberation Symposium (JTBLS) and The Black Liberation Ball (TBLB). This year’s theme is “Finding a Home in Our Bodies.” These events are part of the 30th anniversary of the Kuumba Festival at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, spanning across February 1st, 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2025.
Our Vision
These events are a unique collaboration between Black LGBTQ2S+ and Black heterosexual communities to build stronger allyship, celebrate our diverse Black identities, and honor our shared liberation. We invite you to join us for a variety of engaging plenaries, workshops, and discussions that will explore our bodies, our words, and our collective power. Some events will be wheelchair accessible and feature American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation.
